Time for another Intoxicating Christmas Show at 286 and I am delighted to be exhibiting work by several artists who are new to the gallery. It's a veritable Christmas feast! And almost everything is under £500:
Painters Uliana Agnia, Nigel Caple and Ian Cook all approached me out of the blue. I really liked the look of their work and wanted to give it a try. Come and see why.
I encountered Clare Belfield and Chloe Fremantle (not a double act) at an Open Studio during the Summer and immediately wanted to include them in the show. They both produce delightful and accessible work you would love to live with.
I liked the sound of Angela Easterling's flower and vegetable sunprints. I loved them in reality.
Natacha Ledwidge is an old friend whose illustration work may well be familiar to you, but you will probably not have seen her intense and visionary abstracts - I snapped one up at the first opportunity.
I visited Rebecca Nassauer's studio three years ago and have been wanting to show her ever since. This is the first chance I've had but it's been worth the wait. Her dog paintings are wonderful and her 3D work a blast!
Thanks to the lovely Chione, who greets visitors to 286 on most occasions, there will be a new collection of scarves and cushions by Thomas Hunt, as chic and elegant as she is.
There are some old friends too:
Polly Nuttall (now the mother of twins!), whose chair paintings were a memorable show in 2003. Her new flower paintings are even better.
David Pizzanelli's holograms have been shown at 286 on several occasions but his psychedelic prints are a new departure. Mindblowing!
Geraldine Marticks's extremely desirable jewellery is always a hit at Christmas and there will be a mouthwatering selection of new designs for your delectation. Great present material!
And finally, If you want to give someone a really special gift, then buy them a sculpture by Camilla Shivarg (the chatelaine of 286). They will remember you always.
I can't think how you will be able to resist all that and look forward to seeing you.
