Bobby Gill was born in London in 1939 and studied at the Bath Academy of Art Corsham 1957-1960.
She lives and works between London and Lyme Regis, and visits her shack in Barbados twice a year for some peace and quiet; valuable painting time. She was a tutor at the Royal College of Art from 1973-2004 and made an Honorary Fellow 2004. She runs her own drawing and painting school from her studio in Notting Hill Gate. Lyme Regis has been part of her life since childhood. Her family bought a cottage on Marine Parade and she works there through the winter months. The windows are filled with the changing views across Lyme Bay. Although her paintings are not direct studies of landscape/seascape they are inspired by the environment, seasons, time, weather and tides which all leave their marks across the canvas For further information contact Jonathan Ross: Phone 020 7370 2239 Or email |
